I loved the new Star Trek
In case you didn’t know, I’m a bit of a Trekkie. I haven’t been to a convention, but I think it would be fun to go. I would totally enjoy dressing as an Andorian — they’re the blue ones with the antennae. Mostly, I like the more modern versions of the franchise. But you have to admit that both the original series and TNG are looking pretty dated right about now.
So let me rank my favorite USS Enterprise Captains:
- Picard (The classically trained Stewart was brilliant and compelling.)
- Kirk (Shatner is still a melodramatic genius)
- Archer
- Kirk (Pine — he’s got serious potential, but I can’t move him too high up the list after only one showing)
The new Star Trek movie is AWESOME. I really, really like this twist on the franchise. I hope that they make a bunch more movies and TV shows now that they’ve introduced this alternate reality.
