I found an apartment. It's a 2BR/2BA in Del Mar... west of the 5, about 2 mls from the beach and Del Mar Village. It has a few goofy architectural mistakes that I'll have to play interior designer on, but overall it is pretty good. It is relatively inexpensive given the size and location. In fact, the location is the really important thing for me. This location will be convenient to both work and play. (I can say that somewhat definitively now that I know my new routine).
I'll sign the lease on Thursday, assuming that everything goes as expected. Once the place is painted & I move in, I'll put up some photos.

A former colleague of mine, Sean Van Tyne, has an upcoming event. Unfortunately, I can't go since I'll be in Houston. But I would if I could, since I am confident that this will be a good presentation.

I am addicted to TV again. I am always reminded of the Tom the Dancing Bug comic strip called Flowers for Trinitron.
That really sums it up for me. When I'm TV free I do things like read the great books of the Western canon, or get a professional certification, or paint. But TV is just so damn addictive and mind/soul sapping! Especially when Tivo makes delivery of the drug so efficient. Tivo is like the crack version of TV. Ugh, I hate myself. Seriously, I am experiencing brain atrophy while watching programs like the new 90210 and House. Is there a 12-step program for TV addiction?

I went to the English Beat concert at the Del Mar racetrack last night with some pals. It was all free (I didn't even have to pay for parking) and it was a blast.

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of my email accounts. I have 9 different major email accounts. Notice I didn't write email addresses... that's because I'm not counting total aliases. I'm just giving you the total number for what comes after the @ symbol in an email address (example: alias@emailaccount.com)
So what's up with all this noise? Well, I have a lot of net identities. There are all of my personal domains(5), job-related accounts(2), a gmail acct, and a yahoo acct.
Everything was fairly well managed for a while. I had most of everything funnelling into the gmail acct, then had the work email... so effectively I had 2 major email programs to manage. But, in the past couple of weeks, that has temporarily jumped to 4.
It's really too much. I don't know which email I am sending from or should be receiving into anymore. Frankly, I am getting a little scatterbrained about the whole thing. Good thing it is temporary.
