Garibaldi Fish
- Watercolor on watercolor paper c. 2003
32 inches x 22 7/8 inches.
- This was originally going to be a study in color running, but the weight of watercolor paper couldn't handle saturation and the color started to drip instead. So I went with it and added the garibaldi fish (local to San Diego) as well as the sea grass. And I left the other areas of blue as-is. Some people consider the composition unsettling since there's so much negative space, but I like it.
- This painting displayed at the San Diego Watercolor Society Gallery during the month of November 2003.
