I got to visit Campaign Headquarters a few times. It was a beehive of activity on every night but election night. On election night it was pretty much dead.

The election night party that I attended was definitely for the peons. All the important Campaign people were in Little Rock, Arkansas with the President. The rest of those left behind in DC created some fake credentials that said "They're on the Rock, but We're on the Bridge." Translation: "The big wigs are in Little Rock, but we're the ones that are Building the Bridge to the 21st Century, which, as you may know was the campaign slogan of the '96 election.

I attended the election night festivities with Alex Missal, a German guy that I met and made friends with while working at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. He was very interested in the election, and he loved being a part of the festivities.

I also met up with Matt Pitcher, a fellow White House intern and friend.
